tanshi wrote: whats the point in encouraging people to do things in an in correct and illegal way?? yes redrilling mounts is going to be seen as illegal. extended shackles = illegal.
moving mounts on the chassis can be plated/ engineered.
10% extra work, and 1000% better result
TANSHI Would u just Drop it im not Encouraging him to do anything I want him to have his Own Option on how he should do it .. most people that Buy Suzuki's want a Toy they can Play with on the weekend and drive to work alot of people do not want to be bothered Getting it Engineered because ADR HAVE Retarded LAWS to stop people doing anything to there cars Half the Suzuki's on the Forum Do not Comply With ADR maby yours Does ..
All im saying like your Saying there is a Right way and a Easy Does not work so good way .. But that is his choice how he goes about it FYI Most Suzuki Owners are cheap ass's thats why we own them .. the ones that invest the money to do it Right Come off better in the end with there flashy rigs .. id love one .. To Sum up what i am saying is i was giving him more options ways to do it ..

My Ute had a combination of Cold Reset Super Carry and Ute springs with a mix-n-match combination of spring leaves on stock shackles. Worked fine for me with over 15" of travel in the front and 10" in the rear. Still rode well on the road and could carry a load.
Extended shackles could have improved the rear a little, but any more lift meant I would have had to go to cruiser shocks for length.
You could probably acheive more travel with RUF or SPOA with flat leaves, but I was happy to keep it relatively stock, and lrgal.

Well you certainly have your finger on the pulse don't you.
Have you actually done RUF conversion before?

Combination of these springs and tyres (7.00-16) gave about 4" lift over stock:

Never Claimed to Be A Expert on the Subject
No i Havant Done it my Self Yet because Simply have had the time Or to do it haven't wanted more flex
Seen Quite a Few Zook's In Perth Run RUF With Redrilled Perch's
Spoken to them about it how they find it etc etc ..
it just like AUTO Lockers Just because some people dont like it does not mean it does not work ..does not make it right or wrong .. Moving the Front hanger Fwd would work better .. but If u do not have a Welder handy and have a Drill Why not .. thats the way i look at it .. This Is Just A Reminder of why i Dont Give my Option out very much .. becasuse if always have to defend what i say .. half ass job etc .. maby some people Rather Do it the Easy Way not everyone has a Welder or a Friend with one

EVERY time this comes up it turns into an argument!!!
if its not this its about other things, tyre size. spoa. whatever..
he asked how to get more flex in his ute on a budget!!
not to get involved in an argument or try to decipher info you are throwing back at each other..
each to there own.. we all do things different.. and we only need to make ourselves happy??
back to the topic??
How much do you want to spend?? thats the biggest thing.. if you keep it simple and spend few hundred bucks you will get good results.
maybe OME springs and the commo hiace shock set up??
someone might even have a link and prices on hand for you.. or search??

I fail to see how re-drilling your perches will allow you to fit a longer spring.
Re-drilling the spring hangers will give you a little more room for longer springs though.....

The 'Perch' is the spring landing welded to the diff. The spring 'Hanger' is the fixed mount on the chassis. And the last piece of the puzzle is the shackle hanger.

If you get your springs, little things like rubber bushes will help with movement.. i not using it but everyone that has the OME, commo, hiace. set up likes it for the price.. and the shocks part numbers are on here

dbona2, were you the fellow in the blue 1L ute out at Ripley on Sunday? I didn't get to say hello then. But next time we are going out for a trip out there, see if you can tag along and look at a few of our different cars. Both of mine have a RUF, and some of the other guys run other setups that work for them. You can have a looksee and a talk and maybe make some decisions from that.
