I want to lower my zook as it's sitting to high. I only have a 40mm lift, but would like to bring it back to stock height.
Running OME's all round will it drop the ride height if I remove a leaf from each pack?

I like the flex of the OME's, but that is an option.

taking a leaf out would do it, but you'd potentially get handling issues, and you'll need to check the shocks wont bottom out on compression.
another option being that you're SPUA is lowering blocks between the leaf and the diff =P hahaha

if its only 40mm lifted, why bother lowering it anymore?

swap the stock main leaf with the OME one, so you have the OME main and stock pack underneath... then you get the longer leaf and flatter spring.
i drove a stock sierra on the weekend (suspension was stock, engine was 1.6efi - it hauled ass on stock tyres!!) the ride from stock leaves is best described as "the bumpiest fucking ride of your life" IMO..

To lower the cog.
Lowering it 30-40mm will hardly make it a lowrider.

a 40mm lift will hardly make it a high cog. maybe a 40mm lift, 2'' shackles 3''bl and your best driving suit with matching top hat.
i reckon just leave it man, your fixing what isnt broke IMO

This is quite possibly true,
But on stock tyres I don't need to have 20" of guard clearance

sounds more like you know a whole lot of fuck all about anything to me
maybe help the guy , or dont bother fucking his thread.
you could probably make a hybrid pack using the main ome leaf or two (to get the droop) and some standard leafs.
you just have to play around to get the ride you want

a locked stocker with muds & long soft leaves would be a ball to drive.

I would put the stock ones back in.
You will ruin the OME springs if you start flattening them out by changing in other leafs.

that is my advice, just leave them in there i reckon, how old are the sprigs?
if they have done a fair few kms they would have settled a bit, mine have and are nearly flat.
i geuss if you have the spare time and what not, than do it.
but i would just leave it, ome are nice springs and far better than stockers,
if you pop a spring out of them they may be to soft and invert after a while like my old ones.

stockman, what rim offset do you run? widening it could be another option.
mines pretty wide with 15x7 -38 rims and 31x10.5 tyres.

Just standard rims, not sure on the offset.
I don't really want a big off set rims, as with narrow tyres I'm just going to fall into the ruts.

ah, righto...
hey if fabrication is your thing you could make lower spring mounts off the chassis, and set the shackle end up like this, but not in reversal:
