Does anyone know whether it is legal to drive with the windscreen folded down?

Also, is there a max speed with the windscreen down? I don't have the "feelers" which usually support the windscreen when folded and instead am using a cut up foam pool noodle for support and rope to tie it down. The last thing i want is for the windscreen to fly up, or the vibrations to crack the glass

Thanks for the link Gwagensteve, i'm not sure how i missed it myself.

I'm really only interested in driving with the windscreen down because i can but never have, so basically just curiosity.

That said i like the idea that roof, doors and windscreen are optional extras.

And motorbikes are scary

If you're concerned about it flapping (and I would be) take it off - it's only the plug for the wipers and 2X screws at the hinges and it comes off.

For bonus points you could even lose the b-pillar too.

Just swap over to the older sierra lap belts.

Low back seats from that same old sierra would really complete the look too.

Wouldn't that depends how fast the vehicles around you are going... With the number of stone chips in my windscreens I don't think i'd be game to flip one down (if I had a foldable screen) on the open road!

Lap only belts were used in Sierras? I thought the ADR's changed to mandate a three point belt for front seats well before sierras were introduced - possibly in the early 70's?

I run with the windscreen down quite a bit while out spotlighting.

Top speed.........well on a -3 winters nite, 3rd gear dosn't see much use
