Hello,
I will buy a jimny on monday but not sure what one to get.
Basically, I can get a brand new one in a colour i dont like for $18.5k
or
4 year old one with 35000kms in black with arb winch bullbar, towbar, roof racks, dvd player, sound system, spotlights, luggage compartment, factory alloys, full service history for $15500
What mechanical issues is a 4 year old jimny likely to have? Are there well known parts that need replaced at that age?
$3k for brand new, or $3k less for a heap of mods and nice paint.
What would you do?
Thanks for any advice

id go with the one for 15k as it has had more spent on it but also more suited to you.

We bought a 2006 LIANA with 82k and it's a really nice car with no problems.
I've got no idea about Jimneys but aren't all newish cars made well these days so any issues you'd expect to show up should have by 35k
What's the new one worth when you drive it out the yard?
goodluck with it

You loose too much money if you get a new car.. better to get a used one... spend the extra on mods..
Buy new if your going to keep it for ages.. 20+ years

DVD player is a bit flash for a fishing car that's gonna struggle towing a jet ski.

the old one...no experience with jimny's, but i would always choose a few year old car with extras over a new one. let somebody else loose money.
Brand new cars often have issues that are sorted in a few year old car.

nothing .... if its have been take care of it and regular serviced
mine is a 2002 model and it got 120.000ish when I bought it.... two years and 35.000ish later I havent get any drama at all.... normal service stuff, new battery and I have to replace one front hub/axle seals (and now the other one... cost nothing tho) ..... bcose wheeling in mud/dirt maybe? old? donno... but yeah no dramas at all
