Hey all, I have read scotts posts about his vitara and his issues he is having. The main issue is at idle it is hunting badly and sometimes stalls, I have had to adjust the accelerator cable and play with the fuel air mixture (plastic screw thing) to get it to idle good enough but it still hunts. It also has the cel come on at 60 - 80 km/h and as soon as i back off the throttle it goes off which makes me think it could be the TPS but who knows with these damn computers, i will try and get the codes off it tomorrow, has anyone got any ideas?
I understand the process of checking the timing but how do you adjust it on a H20A if it is out? Some people spoke about blocked CATS and punchin em out, would there be any problems with this or just getting rid of it? I dont care about the legal problems with doin it.
Cheers Cozzy

O2 sensor? Common problem on the 1.6 and J20s, but your symptoms are slightly different.
Easy enough to put a broom handle through the cat - will render it completely ineffective but obviously improve flow...

OK, so i got the codes off the car, first code is 13 and the second is 26. Just so i know what i am looking at, this is what i got,
Code 13 is HO2S-1 no activity detected.
Code 26 - I have no idea what this one is.
Can anyone tell me what side code 13 is refering too and what code 26 is?

Did you reset the codes before you got then?
I believe you disconnect the battery over night and that should wipe the codes. Take it for a drive and get your problem happening and the check them?

Yeah i have reset it and got them again. I found the reference for the codes 13 - o2 sensor 26 - o2 sensor right bank
So all i am wondering now is are both banks rooted or does 13 mean thats the problem and 26 is the problem side? Where is the best place to get o2 sensors? at a good price?

Hey David, Just wondering if you fixed the problem and how, I have a '95 v6 and seem to be having the exact same problem. O2 sensor? I have seen some for $80 on ebay but haven't really had a look anywhere else. What did you end up doing?
