recently purchased 97' coily .. found the interior light didnt work.. bought a new bulb.. no go.. so i figure there is no power to the fixture itself.. is this easily re-wirable or needs an auto sparky? how much you reckon they charge for something that simple? cheers

Easy job mate.

Just unscrew the light fixture. give the wire a wiggle, and you will see where it exits the drivers side sill. Check the wire for damage/ breaks/ corroded joints, and just replace it if need be.

A tip though..... Before reomving the old wire ( should you need to), tape the new one to the end of it and use the old one to pull through the new one

It is possible you actually have 12V at the fixture. I have found in both my coilies the contacts in the switch get dirty. I'd be taking the fixture off and cleaning the contacts or at least testing you have 12V there with a test light or multimeter before running new cables.

I found when i was installing a cd player in my coily i shorted some wires and lost power to the interior light. which i thought was strange as it shouldnt run off a ignition sorce. Cant remember what fuse i replaced but i got power back to the cd player and interior light after changing the fuse.

CD player/radio will usually have both switched & unswitched feeds - the unswitched is for the memory & clock.
