Ok so after a fair amount of thought on the topic, i want to keep my jimny.. well would like to.. however i need to go to SOFT coils... atm the jim handles better than most road cars, the are super stiff.. so what coils/shocks do YOU have and how do you rate them in comparison to stock? i have dobsinons coils and gass shocks atm.. even with no rear shocks (took if for a spin just to see, its still super ferm....) i have read the OME are quite soft, however a trip to arb and there $500 for 4coils. and thats a touch rich i would think.... opinions please? Phil

$500 doesn't sound too bad at all.

I thought the OME coils were only a 40mm lift?

You want soft... Kings. Mine have sagged with all the weight of Cage, ARB bar and winch. They might come back up with none of that though. I'd actually like to find out.

If you want a soft ride....get a standard set of coils and put spacers with them. Extended the bumpstops to suit the size spacers you have, and then chuck some nice softly valved shocks in. Other wise a FULL OME lift. In smiffkids jimny, it had OME 40mm coils an shocks....it was super soft. Swapped the shocks to TD gas shocks that soft ride them become VERY firm.

Frony coils are considerably longer, maybe shagged 50mm lifted fronts in the rear? Ive just ordered new springs, custom made 460mm long. at $100, so really $500 for 4 in Tas isnt bad.

Stock fronts in the rear are soft and will give about 3" lift. I don't think you'll find softer unless they're custom jobbies.
