My new SWB sierra is supposed to have a LSD in the rear diff. Is there anyway to tell if that is so without pulling it apart?

Jack it up, turn one of the back wheels, if the other one turns the same way it has an LSD or locker, spins opposite way=open.

I read some where if its the torsion LSD it will spin like an open diff if jacked up but if you apply resisrance it binds and locks. Aka apply handbrake and it binds?

Jack one wheel up, try n turn it, if its LSD it will be near impossible to turn.

This is if the plates are in good nick.

If you apply the handbrake, or have it in gear, then with only one wheel jacked up, you WON'T be able to turn the wheel no matter what type of diff centre is fitted!

Handbrake off, gearbox in Neutral, transfer in H2, jack up one wheel and try to turn it.
