Thanks.

And I agree with Ace. A nice tight fit between parts is crucial.

So did this just turn to a "i pretty much shouldn't do it cause i have no idea what i'm doing and i really don't want to screw up the housing i have" sort of deal. Cause thats what's going through my head now that's for sure!

So having the truss along the top without the knuckle gusset would be a waste of time?
Is it worth me trying it or just finding someone who CAN do it?

I am keen to give it a try but the technicals and cons are bouncing around now that put me in my place of reality if it screws up. Thinking sucks!

I'm about to brace my wt front diff with the Lror truss and knuckle guessets. If you want to see if the wt truss and guessets fit a coily diff you can do a test fit with mine before I put them on my diff you want. Pm me...

Hey thanks everyone for the info/help etc.
I think that it would fit the coily axle but not 100%. Its not the biggest los of cash if it doesn't fit ill just resell it on, surely someone would buy them.
So what about using the zook then? Reckon it shouldnt be used before i have this done? Or easy wheeling say just to get to the beach over some dunes etc, would be ok? Cause i will get it done but dont want to wait to have to drive it for that period.

Guess it's just my own risk huh....
Should have kept the bloody minitruck haha

Just take it easy any you'll be fine. Never seen a diff housing bend unless it has seen a heavy impact.

i have 'cough' accidently got air in mine a few times. and my diffs aren't bent. mines a leafy might be a bit stronger though i dont know. unless you're really flogging it i think you'd really have to do something bad to bend it.

its not a really common thing to cruise out to the beach and bend a diff housing or two haha

It is in a coily. Washout at 60kph = bent diff.

If your really excited about it you could always strip the housing down and post it off to a fab shop to do.

This is not really a bad thing even if you supply the bracing from LROR etc then its on their head if its warped etc.. Why not get a leafly diff and send both, get them to swap mounts and then brace it....

I was thinking about this but its off this topic so never brought it up. I wasnt sure if it is just a simple swap (not literal swap) from coil to leafy diff as im sure the ratios are different. Unless leafy ratio can go into the rear diff aswell. Or the coil diff would go into leafy housing but i was sure it cant so forgot about the whole idea....

Leafy ratio is 3.7, coily is 3.9. So if you got a leafy housing swapped all the mounts over from the coily housing(good chance to fix the suspension issues to) , then get another 3.9 rear center(can be found from coily or 1.3 NT) you could chuck a locker and cromo's in the front of the leafy housing. This would be the best possible thing to do IMO. This way you can run a locker and cromo's upfront.

Clowns.

This has been discussed plenty of times before.

You can change all the housings and mounts you want, but the fact remains, that there is NO ROOM in front of the axle housing for WT steering linkages, AND the Panhard bar! You can't run the coily HP centre and knuckles with WT CRMO axles, and you can't run a low pinion 3.9 centre with aft mounted tie rod and radius arms.

If you want a WT diff and all the benifits that go along with it, you need to remove the radius arms, and solve the clearance issues with steering and panhard rods.

Example: http://www.auszookers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=8149&hilit=wagon&start=660

Stop leading this poor bloke on.

Greeno, just brace the coily diff and go wheeling already!

If you apply a wet rag to the wrong place it will promote bending/cracking.

I'm assuming adding wet rags and the like will cool the housing to quickly, causing it to constrict prematurely. I think the norm is to let it cool 'naturally' for use of a better word.
