not sure if thats aimed at me, but i've always had a soft spot for rotors... don't mind Rusho, he sits down to pee.

i've always said if aliens were to invent a horsepower machine it would be based on a rotary. 8)

Skies the limit.
Extended port, "J" port, bridge port, peripheral port.
Exhaust and fuel it to match. Upgrade apex seals, turbo, etc

$ will eventually stop you.

I miss my rx7. :(

So on this topic, can anyone tell me what I need to modify on a 13B to get it to run vertical? I'm led to believe that one of the rotors will fill with oil if I do so :?

Nice looking 7 mate.

Nothing wrong with the reliability of a rotary...I've been through more toyota 4AG-E's than mazda 13B's.

Just like any engine, treat it right and it will last.

Money pit, but as WAS12A said if done properly there's nothing wrong with them.
My start would be compression test as a starting point and get an idea of where the seals are at. Just that can tell you whether you're gonna have a bad time or not haha.

And after market ecu.
And Bridgeport.
And gt35.
And 50psi boost.
And a helmet haha

Keep the motor stock. ( no port work )

Bolt on a hybrid Ser 5 rear and body with a T04 .60 front and you will be making boost very low, around the 1500 rpm mark all the way to 7500.

Leave the 550cc primary injectors and hunt down some Siemens 900cc injectors for secondary. You will have to get the plastic housing machined down a little to fit. At 37 psi of fuel pressure they will flow 1100cc.

Try getting your hands on a Ser 5 inlet manifold, they will flow over 400 rwhp easy. Remove the choke set up as you wont need it and at higher boost it will blow closed.

Save for a Haltech ecu. Or go a micro dump. ( Micro Tech ).

Watch fitting a front mount cooler with the Ser 4/5. No mater what people tell you a bar and plate core is a F*&^*ing waste of time on the street. Tube and fin core is the best way to go. Also, dont go for a 3 inch thick core, you will find your car will over heat all the time. Inter-cooler pipe work larger than 2 1/2 inch is a waste of time and will just give you pressure drop.

With the above set up my last rotor made 350 rwhp on 19 psi. But I had 3mm seals and I had the exhaust ports cleaned up to flow better.

Next door neighbour has a 323 Panel with a 12A that runs High 10's. That sits next to his Rx4 that runs 11's. I cry a little bit each Saturday when he loads them up to take them out to the strip... such a beautiful sound.
