Are all jimny diff centres compatible across all models?

Have a chance to grab an air locker from a 1999 Jimny to put in my 2013 Jimny buggy - just don't want to find out the hard way it doesn't fit.

Thanks in advance

Yeah the locker itself will fit. Being a VVT (2005+) manual yours will have 4.3 diffs where as earlier manuals and all autos have 4.1 diffs but the rear locker itself is the same. There are 2 different bolt patterns for the front crown wheel (thus 2 different front lockers) but I don't know when that changed or even if it changed in Aussie models.

For an offroad only vehicle I'd just put a spool or autolocker in it. 100% reliable and much cheaper. A spool will tear up paddocks if that's a factor but autolockers add play to drivetrain and can be noisy/rough if you set them up poorly. A spool is like US$100 from trail tough, autolockers where AUD$300ish last time I looked.

A locker of any sort for a Sierra will fit in the back of a Jimny.

^^ what he said - if it's not being daily driven on the road then just throw a spool in the rear. If you want to go down a slippery slope of mods though, that rear locker could be made to go into the front..

4.09 jimny r&p are made of cheese as it is
Id suggest finding a sierra 4.1 center if a spool is on the cards
