G'day, I've been wanting to build a tiny trailer for my sierra ever since i started reading peoples trailer buildups, but hadn't got around to it, but yesterday a mate of mine gave me a part of an old boat trailer so i decided to start a build up myself. i started thisarvo by cutting 1-1 1/2 feet out of the centre of it and welding it back together, then i raided dads steel rack and found a bit of angle iron for a cross member and a piece of 50x50x5 rhs for a draw bar, i welded them in place but then ran out of light. hopefully i will buy an axle, hubs, springs and a coupling this weekend. the wheels are spare wheels from my brothers corolla. Cheers Jack.

if you intend going bush with the trailer - how about using zook rims [same size and type as your sierra] saves carting another spare, gives you a bit more ground clearance and you can always cannibalise the trailer for wheels if everything goes pear shaped.

G'day i drove up to nubco this morning and got my parts for the axle and a coupling but forgot 2 u bolts, i decided to go with ford pattern as they only had holden, ford and landcruiser. i rolled a 600-16 bar tread under it but it was way to tall so for should look right. cheers Jack.

I finally got the trailer ticked off i just have to go get the plate for it. the build came to a stop when i couldn't find any wheels for it but i got impatient and borrowed them off of dads trailer. i now have some of my own on the way. Cheers Jack.

It might be to late for you but there are rims and tyres on eBay that are brilliant and are only $100 including freight. Mine have done around 20000km and still look like new. They are the ones I used on my teardrop

g'day i got some sides bent up for the little trailer and made a drop down tailgate, being 4x3 it looks very small but it is so handy and being the same width as the car you don't have to worry about it catching on trees when getting firewood, next job is to make a cage for it. cheers Jack jr
