Hi folks!

Looks like it’s time to find a new owner for Ugly Bob.. He’s a rough diamond and needs a good home.. time for me to put the money into a different project and relinquish a rego (they’re getting expensive).

It’s an ‘84 LWB NT, and despite it’s appearance he’s a great steed!!

It’s got a long Rego left, nearly a year (has just been paid), expires on the 27th May 2019.

It has a custom Bulldog Trimming softtop installed a couple of years ago, no tears and no worn out bits. Makes the rear compartment easy to access with the zip up side clears.

Brand new Weber copy (FAJS) carby installed a couple years ago, works perfectly, idles well.

Running 31’s, stock gearing but sits well on the highway. Usually punches out 110, headwinds will make it slower though. The speedo has been adjusted so it reads correctly with 31’s.

Some of the work done

New brakes front and rear just over a year ago with less than 20’000km on them now.
Also gave the drive train some love with front and rear wheel bearings, king pin bearings. Axle seals, steering knuckle and free wheeling hubs all done at the same time as the brakes.

A few months ago it got heaps of love with:
New timing belt and tensioner
New battery
New fuel pump
New clutch thrust bearing
Has extractors and a 2” exhaust installed (not new but in great condition.
Got a new steering box with little play

The car runs and drives great! Recently took it on a 1500km road trip and like always it didn’t skip a beat.

It has several different coloured panels as I’ve found ones to replace shabby bits. So, it’s got doors with no rust, windscreen frame again in great condition.

Previous owner gave it a shabby black spray job which is slowly rubbing off which gives it a unique mottled appearance. All this, in my opinion, is part of its charm and character.

It’s got a PVC snorkel fitted, I love it but it may not be to everyone’s taste. It does work a treat though.

I have a rear bench seat but it’s not currently in the car, it’s stored on a station but I should be able to pick it up in a couple months.

It does have some rusty bits!! Floor pans are ok but not perfect. Wheel guard and tub floor in the back have some cancer but nothing that couldn’t be fixed. Below the front grill there’s some cancer, easy to replace if you’d want to.

The front bushes are buggered which makes it handle a bit crappy but I have some good ones to replace them. If I get time they will be replaced.

Drivers seat is pretty shabby but does the job.

Would make a great framework for a brilliant build, or a fun daily driver!! I’ve used it as a daily for about 5 years now and I still love it, worts and all.

$2500. Located near Bunbury

Will try pics later, doesn’t seem to want to work right now. Cheers all!!

In the back it’s poking hole through rust. It would definitely need a bit of grinding and MIG action to fix it up!! Rust converter won’t do it. Will post pics of the rust areas soon.

The drivers side I wouldn’t bother to fix, it’s really just opened the bungholes a bit extra. Enough so the bungs don’t quite sit in there properly but I fixed that with rubber mats over the top :)

The front member below the grill is cactus, I’d be replacing it. Not difficult if you have a replacement off a wreck or somewhere.
