Yes you can. But they are not usually splined, so they don't grip as well. I used to use them for work, the just tack it in place with the TIG after collapsing them into place. This stops them from spinning in the future.

I have had a lot of luck with "squaring up" the hole with a small file, when you compress the rivnut/nutsert it deforms into the shape and resists slipping.
Peter.

Just to bring up some 3 month old history...
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/350444556927 ... 1423.l2649
i found this on ebay and it looked a tad more like bolt cutters with the extra leverage compared to the pop rivet style that has been listed here before. I was wondering before I bought it if anyone else has one like this and what its like?

I've heard good reports from this seller and from my emails with him he seems pretty genuine.

Why not make a front or rear bar for your car?

Just found this thread, and i must say, these Nutsert tools are pretty damn awesome, so many things i could use it for, to bolt things onto the GV, hehe
I just did a search on eBay, here is one from the same seller as mentioned above, with 250 pieces of Ally and Steel, from M3 to M8, for $200 -
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/214-PC-BLIND ... 1c1de76b4c
And to make the job even easier, here is a Cordless Drill Nutsert attachment for $188, its on sale for a week -

Buy one of these Same seller as the kit one, but a crapload cheaper!
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/RIVET-NUT-NU ... 1c1cbf0e65
I bought one of these then went out and bought 50 m3 m4 m6 and m8 steel nutserts and i think the 200 nutserts cost me about $50. Thats more then enough to get started. I recon you buy the kit, ya'd only use a few of the 'serts themselves, more would just sit there filling out the box.
Just my 2c worth.
Dave
