I picked up a 2007 yamaha scooter with bits missing from the engine for the grand old sum of $0 The main piece missing was a cylinder. I have been waiting until the big bore ones to suit this engine came into stock. I noticed they were available Friday so I thought I would drag it out and start stripping it for the full ball treatment. What was once a measly 49cc is going to be punched out to a big block monster of 83cc during stage 1 of the build. If that isn't fast enough then I will buy the stroker crank that takes it out to a bit over 100cc. In kit form
Engine Cases stripped for cleaning

have you thought about putting in a mini bike motor? you can pick up a 140cc motor and gearbox from ebay for cheap. I have put a lifan 140 in my mini when the original gearbox died. it was cheaper to buy a whole new motor/box then to replace the original. it has about 13hp and will do about 80km/hr. |

They are 4 stroke, so they are banned from my toy collection. These are about 4.5 hp stock, I am aiming for 15+hp. If it doesn't go fast enough, I keep tweaking until it does. |

And they all sound like a constipated briggs and scrap iron. There is no better sound than a 2 stroke screaming it's guts out |

I understand power is king and it helps to get to top speed quicker. Please correct me if I am wrong |

I understand power is king and it helps to get to top speed quicker. Please correct me if I am wrong I am not after top speed, just acceleration. The hot up parts available for these things is unbelievable. Different weights and springs for the variable speed drive, different final drive ratios, big carby's and reed cages etc. I also have a lathe so I can just make a bigger pulley to get more speed. Getting revs isn't hard, it is going to be a very short stroke motor, there is plenty of meat in the cylinder to make the ports better. The pipe is the key, I can buy an off the shelf one but I don't know how that will go with the port timing I am aiming for. As it has a variable speed drive I can make the engine quite peaky and try and keep the revs where the most torque is made. |

I might post it down next year before the rally and take it back with me when we go. We are thinking about a piss up when we get there so it would be the perfect opportunity to see drunks get hurt. |

Why would I fuck around with a poxy pit bike motor? They are 4 strokes with fuck all power. I will send the whole lot back over to the scrap yard before I would use a 4 joke. |
