Hello all, i am wanting to rebuild my g16a 8v(Carbi), i already have the engine out and on the stand, i was wondering if anyone could give my pointers and ideas of the best rebuild kits and what special tools i will need to use, don't need to worry about spanners and sockets ect, i have a decent KinCrome Toolbox Set. List of things i was looking at doing: Was looking at getting the Calmini Mid Rang Camshaft, anyone used or heard anything about this before? Calmini Rebuild Kit? Undecided on what brand Clutch, Undecided what to do about the Flywheel. Weber Carbi? Latter on was thinking Calmini Anvil Axle Housing and Calmini Heavy Duty Rear Axles, anyone used or heard anything about these before? Calmini 3" Suspension System, Calmini Front and Transmission & T-Case Skid Plates? ARB Air Lockers, worth it or not? That's all for now |

mate, its prob not the best spot for this thread. maybe get it moved to the tech section. tools: -torque wrench that has been calibrated??? -ring compressor? -dial gauge -micrometer a lot of people ask about the cam, some run with with different results. depends if you do exhaust and intake as well. no point in just doing a cam, the result will be less noticable.....but then again anything is better than nothing. have a search. Calmini Rebuild Kit, dont buy a kit untill the block has been measured and machined. no point buying std size pistons and bearings ect if it has to be machined oversize. strip it down and get it machined or at least measure the bores ect and go from there. http://www.precisionintl.com/engine.asp ... D=0&Page=1 http://zukiengines.com/ Undecided on what brand Clutch- personal opinion, exedy is good Undecided what to do about the Flywheel- get it machined! Weber Carbi? just get a carby kit put through your current one, and get it tuned correctly |
