hi every one just thought id post up some pics of my home made draws that i have been makeing over the last week for me sierra first i got a metal frame made with draws on runners in side to make it easier and stronger
he draws have marine carpet in them which can be easly removed if needed for cleaning etc thay are held in with edging around the top than i made a base and made mounting points useing the old seat bolt holes
than put the draws in and sentered every thing
cheked the draws dident hit
than made side panels for the front

dident get any pics of the top on without carpet heres the base painted and carpeted and bolted to the flore
put the draws in and centered than screwed them down
carpeted the sides at front
and at the back

thanks for all the comments guys, im only 17 and these are the first ones iv made so i thought i didn't do to bad hers a pic of the one i copied and the company dident mined, thay actually took me in and showed me it up close and gave me tips on how to do things, which was great.

hey mate looking into making a set of these myself so if you dont mind i have a couple of questions. What did you use to keep the carpet attached? How is the draw assembly shell together, ie. spot welds or rivets? |

hay mate the metal frame is held together with pop-rivets and its just flat gal steal folded to shape, i used contact adhesive glue, you can get it from hard wear shops ect but it is a bit pricey so it works out to be cheaper if you buy the bigger tin. just ask if your got any more questions mate im happy to try and help. cheers scott |

cheers scott The sliding brackets make a big difference, where did you get the ones you used? They can be pretty pricey but I think it's one of those items it would be wort spending some coin getting decent slides. |

hay damo i got them from the bloke who made the metal frame for me, im sure he would sell u them if thats all you wanted, thay hold 75kg per draw which is heeps, on his sight thay say there $65 per pr for 700mm long and $85 per pr for 1000mm long. cheers scott hers his website http://www.offroadsystems.com.au/ |

did you say you had the original draws custom made for that or did you buy them somewhere retail? where they expensive? is it hard to reach into the fridge at that hieght or is it purely for storage and it comes out of the car when in use? cheers jamie |

hay jamie, um i got just the metal frame made buy the obove link^^^ he makes them all the time for the draw systems he sells, but normaly there 200mm high and i got mine made 280mm high (i think the draws stay in the car all the time but dont take me long to take them out if i want (about 20mins) and the fridge is taken out unless im going on a long trip were it is needed and i can see in it just fine but my short mum cant haha all depends on how tall you are mate lol cheers scott |
