Hi Guys,
So have pulled out the 1985 tape deck that was rusted into a nearly solid lump from the 85 Drover gun buggy. I have a spare new Sony CD head-unit that I want to install in its spot. I will completely replace the wiring harness as part of the overall project and speakers will be two projector horns mounted on the roll bar (remember this is for broadcasting squeaks and squeals to attract foxes, not for playing Metallica!).
So my question is this - anyone got a great idea of how to DIY a water resistant mounting for the stereo into this space? I don't want to purchase an expensive marine stereo or even one of the marine stereo DIN pockets with lids, I want to bodgy the hell out of this with homemade bits
I was thinking maybe make something out of some of the Wife's Tupperware? Mounting points on the existing stereo housing are a bit crappy as it was only designed for the old style tape decks and not a modern DIN unit. I can fabricate all sorts of bits and pieces and it doesn't have to look nice, just needs to be secure and relative proof against rain since there is no top on the buggy.
