Marine stereos aren't that expensive. But a normal stereo should survive there fine without waterproofing I reckon. Just buy a new one every 10 years and you'll be fine. |

Yeah i have a Sony deck in mine with USB input and it's been hit with the hose, rained on and all sorts and is still kicking... it was only $99 at JB HiFi... 55w x4 channels makes it one of the more powerful decks available as well. The one thing i'd suggest though is with your speakers get ally cones rather than paper. My previous speakers were paper and rotted out after about 3 years. Current speakers are all ally cones and are over 10 years old now still sounding great. |

Look for a marine unit the are fairly robust and moisture proof, other than that a plastic container from a supermarket, many have side clips and an O ring in the lid, easy to run wires through and seal with silicon. Many sizes to choose from. |
