Just an update for my front bar build.
Quote:
made a new front bar today. still needs some welding and cleaning up.
a bit of 50 x 100mm box and some scrap fat tube for the nudge bar
The side lengths taper up to 70mm at the ends and angle back, there's some 42mm tube inserted in to the base of the side bits to create the round effect at the bottom, you can see the tube end in the top photo. Also have put a spot light bracket in the middle. Not really sure about the indicators yet. I'd like to inset new ones in the end sections.

Update:
I finally got around to finishing the bar, well almost. It still needs some kind of number plate holder thing, maybe just tags or something.

I needed to mount the indicators somehow to the above bar deisgn, so i got some cast bends, chopped a bit of angle out of them so it wasn't 90degrees, so the side bars matched up with the main nudge hoop. I used some 25nb? tube to make up the rest, with some flat plate to fill the inside area and bolt the indicators to.

and painted charcol hammertone.

Very cool!!! 8)

Love the finish on it. You do realise that you will have to start up production now as there will be more than a few people wanting one!!

Any pics of the mounts steve??

Making my front bar ATM.

Just want to see whats being used.

Was thinking of just using four mounting holes on the chassis with 10mm plate and cruch tubes on top at least. Don't know if this would be strong enough though.

oops i didn't see this post.

Yeah i just used the standard holes at the front of the chassis. I used some 10mm plate with holes drilled in it, and a circle cut out to match the hassis cross tube.

Now you haver eplied to this one go look in your build thread for my other question.

oops didn't see the above posts.

i think if anyone was going to make something like this and sell it, they would want atleast $350 because of the amount of time it takes.... and i think no one would want to pay that much anyway.

No wonder ARB bars sell for $1000, or second hand $350.

so yer, it's not really worth it for any backyard operators to make stuff to sell. It's not really a problem, because most people just want to make their own stuff, which is cheap and you get some kind of satisfaction out of making your own stuff.

any close up pics of the moutning?

where did you get the tapered box section?

also the pipe inside the boxsection is that just to give it a round finshed? did you cut out the side of the boxsection and weld the pipe in there?

don't have pics of the mounts, but they're just 10mm plate that bolts to the end of the chassis to the normal bullbar holes, like normal bullbars connect up.

All the box is the same, i just cut the ends on an angle and welded the pipe in all the way along where the box touched the pipe.
