Post subject:  Threads with "unread" or new posts.
The old forum showed threads with unread posts based on the time of my visit, so if I looked at say 6 out of 12 threads, on my next visit, none of the 12 would show as new unless someone had posted to them in between my visits - this version marks the threads based on whether or not I look at them, so those 6 threads I didn't look at will show as new or updated regardless of how many times I visit .

Is there a personal setting that controls this somewhere or is it a forum default? My preference is the old way, but it's not really a big deal.

View new posts does what you want from what i can see.

This is a system that actually works the way it should. If you haven't read the post why would it say that you have? :thefinger:

on other forum scripts people complain because once they leave and return to a site all the posts are marked as read.

use the "mark forums read" link at the top, of the index page and also at the top of every page.

Yeah - that's what I'm doing now - and why I said it wasn't a big deal - I just preferred it the other way.
