How far to the standard axles slide into the mini spool? ie: do they engage more of the splines than the standard side gears? I'm wondering if torqued/twisted axle splines will be an issue when my minispool arrives. |

Weird how they don't fit easily eh? Haha your thread was helpful to me, but I thought having a step by step guide might be a little more helpful to others. I had a little trouble with getting it to fit in the cage, for a moment I thought it would slide in like the ones that came out did. I tried pressing it in but I was using a bit too much force I thought I was going to break something. Having it in that tight also ment lining up the pin holes would be a pain. So I went around to a couple of mechanics to see if it should be pressed in or a tiny bit shaved off, like you did, But some of them didn't know much. Even a diff specialist didn't have the right lathe bit for it and suggested I bust out the grinder. I'm dodgy, but not that dodgy. The next place I tried, well I had 4-5 blokes gathered around after explaining what I was doing, a bit of head scratching later one suggested just use some linishing cloth and emery paper. He gave me a strip of each and went at it. 5 mins of back and forth with it on each end, It went in nicely, and made lining up the main pins much easier. So yeah, All done

I cannot see the original post, is it just me, or has it been deleted or something? |
