And one you forgot: The Genuine Suzuki Locker! This cable-operated locker was available on LJ80 Stockman and SJ410. The T-shaped handle operated a dog gear that locked the axle shaft to the diff hemisphere, thus also locking the other axle through the spider gears. The same principle is pictured on the KAM Locker above. |

Also, did you know that ALL Sierras have the Diff Lock light in the Instrument cluster? The Type 2 1.0 litres have the light in the small 4wd box on the dash, and the 1.3 "round vent" dash and 1.3 "square vent" dash both have the light in the panel of lights below the speedo. This could be handy to wire up if you have an activating locker such as the ARB (or a Genuine Suzuki Locker!!!) |

This could be handy to wire up if you have an activating locker such as the ARB (or a Genuine Suzuki Locker!!!) no...they DON'T. i have pulled apart that many clusters over the years and grafted other lights into them that i am yet to see a 'locker' symbol. they may have the spare spot there for them, but there is no symbol. there may be markets were that is the case, but not ALL. |

Looks to my like that kaiser locker basically lets the outside wheel turn faster than the inside wheel when being driven. So its unlocked (and free wheeling) when your going around a corner, even when the power is on. If you could combine this with a Helical/Torsen type diff it would be unreal. Power to the wheel with the most traction, then only drive the wheel on the ground when the other is in the air. normally with a torsen when one wheel is in the air it acts open, which is their only downside. |
