Post subject:  Death wobbles on my 82 sierra

I have an 82 sierra short wheel base tin top. I've recently done a SPOA conversion. I'm running 2 inch lifted springs, rear scissor shackles, longer shockers with taller front shocker mounts, 32 inch tyres, power steering, no front sway bar.

When the car seems to get over about 60-70km, it starts rolling side to side, even though the steering wheel is aimed straight. It's something I can't seem to control. It's quite agressive and reminds me very much of towing s trailer when it gets the sways up. I feel like if I were to drive fast enough, I could probably roll the car going in a straight line.

The suspension is very softy all round.

Is welcome any suggestions as to what people may think this problem may be. I've changed the front springs over with no better result. I'm thinking the installation of the factory sway bar may help, or new shockers? Could an out of balance wheel cause this issue?

Thanks

Assuming the KP and wheelbearings are good and correctly adjusted and the steering components are OK.....

I'd say you have reduced the caster to a point where it is dangerous.
Why do you need so much lift? I ran 33's with only 2" spring and 2" body... Seems like you have closer to 8" lift.

Go get a wheel alignment to find out your caster and fit some wedges if needed.
