As there are a few of us building up tougher vitaras, and mines currently under construction, ive been thinking about a few mods to the front end to increase its strength. Most of us now have swapped over to a steel gv housing and carrier, and fitted an ARB air locker. next on the list to give up would be the cv's.
One simple mod cj from victorian suzuki club pioneered was to add a bearing to the drivers size of the diff housing to provide the inner cv shaft more support. There was a thread on this floating around on a forum somewhere a while ago, but i cant remember where it was, i do however have the CAD drawing of the bearing holder he had machined up. Since then suzuki must have realised this is weak point in the front end and have released their own nylon bush, as shown in another thread here.

apparently its about 100 odd bucks for this nylon bush from suzuki.
back to my question, would this nylon bush to the job, or would I be better off machining up the bearing holder and putting a propper bearing in there?
