Post subject:  Axle Widths

I am after some information and I am sure with some of the people that are here this will be easy.

Brake to brake widths for different axles. This info will be great for anyone doing an axle conversion or an SAS.

We should start with the easy ones (Suzukis') and then add compatible axles as we find them.

By brake to brake width do you mean WMS to WMS?

Not trying to be a picky bastard, just other resources (pirate, IH8MUD) use WMS.

cheers, Davo.

Wheel mounting surface - as in the flange that that the wheel mounts against. Diff measurement is done from one WMS to the other WMS.

Yep that is what I was saying mate.

And if anyone cares, 80 hubs fit on 60 diffs, and viceversa.
This makes fitting discs to a 60 a tad easier, also a cheap way to (legally) widen a 60 rear. The standard brakes don't fit then though, they do not mix and match.
And the 60's are good offsets for sierra's. (big pumpkin though. :( ), and I should know..... I have some waiting at home for me. :D

Cheers, Davo.

No, but the wheel track is... side wall to side wall.

Ok. This thread is about WMS to WMS measurements.

Does anyone know if SV diffs are the same width as SQ GV----> diffs?

Man 4.3 and auto 5.13. Not sure if they changed the crown wheel and pinion sizes. I would have thought they just put bigger axles in. Might be tough gettin a locker though.
