decided this will be the weekend i will throw it on.
any hints from anyone who has done it,
im having trouble lining up the stencil, it has to be the worst ive ever seen, the instructions say to line it up on the edge of the gaurd on one side and the top on the other, but unless i have had a major car acccident it is impossible.
here is the snorkel, i reckon i will just do it by eye from pics,

for those interested, and those that im not on their ignore list lol.
the template supplied is useless other than to use as toilet paper.
easiest way is to line the snorkel up with the a pillar, select what hieght you want it, than trace where the holes have to go.
pics if needed. good snorkel. crap template.

also it is necessary (at least for 2011 models) to take the 3 bolts holding the front of the guard on, so you can remove the old piping into the airbox.
also the hose supllied to run from the snorkel to the airbox is .... well it isnt the best the way it goes into the airbox and cant be secured, so it could potentially come out, if it was slightly larger at one end, you could put it over the mould at the start of the air box and hose clamp it, but its to small and you have to feed it into the box.
i will negate this for now by sikaflexing the hell out of the entry and ecit so it holds it in there and is water tight.

also another problem ive run into, the hose supplied that goes from the snorkel to the airbos is too wide to fit between the panel and the inner guard frme. must be slightly different from the earlier models, ive contacted jinybits and they are now aware of the problem, it will be a pretty easy fix, but its about 60 degrees in the shed and no windoews or airflow, so i cbf anymore, the snorkel is mounted and there atm,


also while i had the guard off, i dropped it and scratched the shit out of it and put a huge dent in it. not happy.
im used to old busted trucks, not new shiny stuff and im ruff.

overall im semi happy with the snorkel, if i had my time again, i would just make one from ally pipe.
may just do that when its time to replace the panel.

once im back i qld, the jimny get a total paint job so that may when i do it.
