05 steel diff

I know an 05 steel diff wont fit in a 98 SV420 because it will hit the sump. Does anyone know by how much? I.e. would a hammer fix this clearance problem or is it no way near?

Not really, have a search I've posted pics of the damage required to make it fit.

Thanks, remember the pic, seems like a fair wack to the sump to get it to work:-(

this one won't work as it's from a JB (NGV/GV3) eg they're completely different. viewtopic.php?f=8&t=43428

Just got a proper look underneath, is my sump supposed to look like that?

yeah looks about right, that whole area gets stoved in to fit a late model pinion mount into a SV420.
