hey with putting the g16a into a 1lt sierra do I need to change the gearbox and the wiring from the vitara or can I keep it from the sierra? and would I need to get engine mounts or should it fit straight in?
Youll need a 5 speed gear box from a 1 3l sierra. A adapter kit to adapt gearbox. engine mounts on chassis has to be moved. new gearbox crossmember needs ti be fabricated. Not sure on wiring
And on an early SJ40 (1981, right?) you will nedd to panel bash the transmission tunnel to fit the physically larger 5 speed gearbox. And rewire the charging circuit from the F10A 's externally regulated alternator to the G series internally regulated alternator. You can't hang the early Alt off the later engines.
