Hey guys I am looking to buy a 2"suspension lift for my coily. There is an eBay kit with king springs and ultima shocks. Does anyone have experience with this kit and can anyone tell me if it is a good buy? Thank you!!

Mate, I did a quick search of the forum and it appears that is what a lot of coily drivers are doing, if you are wanting to clear tires a body lift may be a better bet.

Lots of poeple run this kit due to a lack of better options. Seems most find it adequate for the money. Expect it to last about 2 years.

They should be ultima shocks and bluemax springs and they only come in 40mm which ends up being 30mm in the front after a while.
You get what you pay for.

My only rant is they should make some 80mm shocks.

Thanks for the advice guys. Basically I want to do a 2 inch lift with the least complications possible. I know that with a body lift you have to muck with the steering and other things so I'm not really sure how to go about it as I'm new to this.

My kit came with King Springs Was happy bout that.

To the OP. I run the 40mm kit with 235/75 muddies on -13 offset rims with some light guard massaging. It works well for me as I now use it as a daily.

it raised the front like 60mm
was good for camping stoped the ass sagging when loaded up

You don't want want a 3" kit. Really, you don't. Coil sierra suspension won't work at all at that height.

If you REALLY want to try it, buy a 2" kit and run 1" coil spacers, but expect the car to handle poorly on and off road - and it won't be the spacers causing that- it's the design/geometry of the coil suspension. It wasn't designed to drive around fully extended all the time, and that's what 3" of lift replicates.

Castor correction is a must for the front and the rear coils start to banana shape at 4inches.
If your going to do it use standard jimny front coils with a spacer You will also need bigger shocks than the 40mm ebay ones. Im using econovan rears. With jimny coils and a 50mm spacer.

Just bought the car and I was looking into things, From that it might be better to get 2inch suspension and 1-2 inch body main aim is to fit a set of 31 tyres.

IMHO it is far easier, neater and less inconspicuous to run 30's. Almost guaranteed not to rub with 2 inch suspension and 2 inch body lift and a slight massage with a hammer on the inner guards. 31's will probably require a very decent guard bashing(at best) and bump stop extensions at a minimum.

This! Plus gearing a coily would be a pain, that's why mine is 235s with mild lift, anything more i should have started with a leafy as so many leafy parts would go into it.

Gearing isn't to bad...leafy transfers bolt in very easily

can some one tell the the distance on there sj80 between center of wheel and bottom of the gaurd, i measure 470mm rear 460mm front

trying to work out if the car ive brought is standard height or not
