hi all,

my WT sierra with a G16B and a warn 8000lbs winch is killing the battery on recoveries. The alternator seems to be making good power so i want to upside the battery but retain the original mounting location (on the firewall in front of the driver).

What size batteries have others managed to squeeze in that location (brand / model / pics would be awesome)?

Cheers

also "killing the battery on recoveries" what does this mean.

The winch will always take more current than the alternator can provide, its just that you only should be using the winch for short durations so the battery put up with it.

Upgrade to a Falcon alternator, see here for that. viewtopic.php?f=17&t=5529

You can squeeze an N70zz in there with some mods or you can just drop in an N50.

As droverdave says, a winch is always going to outdo your electrical system.

It is possible to squeeze another N50 on the passenger side.
