Hi all

Just wondering if anyone else has come across this issue.
My Project was bought with non factory seats, these seats have been crudely bolted to the floor and the original drivers side seat mounts have been cut out/removed.
Now firstly i will in the near future need to get a VIC RWC so what are my options here to ensure a safe and legal seat install?
Also will i need engineers to sign off on any improvements i make?

Cheers in advance :-D

Find someone wrecking a sierra and cut out the factory seat mounts and re install them. You could grab the whole driver's side floor, then in your own time drill out the spot welds to cleanly remove the mounts and weld them into your floor. It's unlikely you'll get a roadworthy with anything that looks non standard. There'a also no need to have done this anyway - the stock mounts aren't really in the way of anything much.

 :D  Great idea Steve thank you!
Now the trouble will be finding a Sierra at the wreckers, I'm not having much luck with that so far.
Found a nice balena engine at my local wreckers with 140k on the clock so I'm weighing up whether to buy it and do the sump and oil pickup mods or wait for a g16b from a vitara hmmm
Either way I'm motivated to get this on the road and go adventuring!
Thanks again :D

Re the engine
Baleno with coil pack or dizzy?
Vit still needs sump and oil pickup done too.
Either will require an engineers cert if you desire to keep it legal

Very helpful thank you!
i will hopefully go check that sierra out this weekend and get some part that i need.

Not sure if the Baleno is coil or dizzy (looks like im making another trip to the wreckers)
its a 95 model, not sure when they changed to coil.

I think i might keep the stock 1.3 in for the RWC to keep it all simple, the G16B conversion will happen later on after ive done all my research.
I plan to get it engineered as i dont want any issues down the track.

This will only be on club Reg so it will be a dedicated "fun" wheeler and camping trip vehicle
