Hi I've got a 2013 jimny with 25k on the clock and I'm pretty mechanically minded I've done clutches, timing belts cv's etc before.
I'm contemplating servicing it myself, is this a wise idea. I mean they are a reliable car and very simple mechanically and with the $600 I save a year that's a pretty good tool box set.

From what I looked in the warranty they don't cover suspension as I take it off-road or clutches and there's a clause that says it the head goes it's a secondary failure due to a hose then they will only replace the hose.

The Suzuki guys don't do diff oil changes regularly unless I pay $100 more per service so I'm wondering if I should just do it myself. Comments please and where can I buy or download the best service manual.

I have a 2013 jimny that I bought new, it has never been to a dealer or mechanics. I didn't even bother with the free 1000km service.
I just change the oil/filter every 5000km or 6 months and change all oils, brake fluid etc every 20000. No issues at all. About 40000km on the clock

I would just service myself personally. As Steve says on here, even if you do everything right, but take your car off-road chances are they won't honour the warranty upfront and getting anything done will be pulling teeth out. Parts are cheap enough for the jim. If you keep it a couple years and are unlucky enough to have something major go I reckon you will still end up on top financially.

Cheers guys, that's what I was thinking
. In the time I change diff oil it no trouble to change spark plugs, oil, air filter, etc. anybody else's comment are much appreciated.

Anybody know where to get a service manual.
