Trying to keep it short.

I bought a zook with no rego it expired when the previous owner had it, it has a rwc now.

What are the options for getting it into my my name?

Can I still transfer the rego to my name with the appropriate paperwork even though it's expired? It wouldn't be anymore than 6 months out.

Or

Do I have to get a new registration? What's involved in that? Apparently I have to take it in for another inspection (even after the rwc), what do they check in this inspection?

Just start a new rego. Go see QLD Transport with the Safety Cert and get it done.

Way easier than expected. Note for anyone else As long as the previous rego has expired you can and have to get new rego.

In my situation the guy before me was using a different vin number..... pretty dodgy...
But that meant when I used the correct one i can register it straight away. I have playes now YAY!!
