Are the swb and lwb 4 cyl vitara body widths the same as a lwb v6 96 model mainly the front end as i seen a bullbar off a lwb 1.6 vitara and just want to know if it will fit with some new brackets

Yes, the body is physically the same width, but the v6’s and 2 litres have body cladding so depending on the design of the bar it may look a little too narrow. The chassis is completely different so the brackets will need more than a little work.

The plastic panelling stuck to the the guards, lower 1/4 of the doors and sills. Adds about 40mm of width to make up the increased track width of the v6/2.0litre cars.

OK makes sense now missed out on it anyway so I might take my front bumper off and measure the width later and see if I can find another bar the right width

If you’re going to go down that path I’d recommend finding an ARB vitara bar and modifying the mounts to suit the V6 chassis. At least that way you know you’re starting with a quality bar that was sympathetically styled.

If I can find another Arb Vitara bar and I go the cash I'll definitely grab it but its slim pickings without having to travel too far

I agree, they're hard to find.
