Yeah Got bored and after making recovery points this morning figured I’d give it another go
The pcv shouldn’t suck air in should it ?

yeah apparently it shouldn't suck at idle then sucks a little at mid then none at top
we have put it down to issues with vaccum because when you close the choke she will idle a lot longer so the extra pressure is pulling more fuel in giving me idle

generally ive found idle problems to be in 2 places (beyond these is not within the scope of me trying to explain it to you on an internet forum)
1. fuel cut solenoid under accel pump arm , thing with 2 wires going to it. its job is to cut fuel from the idle circuit to stop overunning engine when you switch the ignition off. generally they either work or dont work. when you put your finger on it and can feel and ever hear an audible "click" generally means its ok.
2. idle air bleed jet. in the last pic in this thread you can see a brass jet with two flats on the top . this is the jet that bleeds air with the fuel pulled from the primary slow jet to atomise it and produce a smooth idle. when you take it out there is a tiny tiny hole in the end that gets blocked and causes the car not to idle. normally when it gets semi blocked you can hear a "slurping" sound from the primary venturi. this is because rather than atomising the fuel it is causing droplets of fuel which will cause a poor or no idle situation. unscrew it you can look from the top end through it and should see the hole at the other end. clean it out by either blowing compressed air or ive used a very fine gauge single copper wire to poke through before.
Hope this helps

Should be able to get a full lead kit with new rotor and cap off ebay for about $60. One of the Sydney sellers will get it to you in a couple of days. New carby and a tune up kit should help get it humming along again nicely.

So new leads didn’t fix the problem well there might have put I broke the dizzy cap so it got replaced as well
And I have finished the install of the carby pretty much
Enough that she will run and idle I just need a bolt to bolt the hat back on and a little tuning and it’s good to go

Sounds reasonable!! The 4K is set up for a different motor so that might work
