Free? Static? Compressed? That’s a pretty open ended question.

Is this for the purpose of your coil converted LJ81? If so it's not relevant.

Just thought id throw this one in the mix too, As I only noticed this the other day(Im sure a lot jimny owners already know though.) Jimnys use two different rated springs in the rear, my only thoughts were to compensate for the lop sided fuel tank. they are actually noticeably different length out of car about 10mm

Tough Dog 80mm have a different rating/length for the rear. Same springs for the front. 4xfourart are the same side to side.

This is standard.
I learnt the hard way.
I bought an OME kit. When removing the old springs I noticed that the left was different to the right and thought that I had an issue and lucky I was replacing them.

Didn't notice and part number difference on the replacements. Unfortunately they are marked A and B. Small writing also not visible when installed. Anyway after installation I noticed the rear end was leaning to one side. Rang ARB and they confirmed that they are different lengths. Swapped from side to side and now the car is level.

I don't remember which side was which.

In most cases the longer spring goes on the driver's side.
