G'day Zookers,

I know pretty much nothing about either the vehicle or the engine so basic questions in a flame proof environment sounds great! I suppose finding out what I have is the place to start...
1. G13B/292808 is the engine number. What generation engine do I have so that i can order or find parts...
2. Where to find an engine manual?
3. What modifications need to be done to get this working in a SJ50 Sierra?
4. Where is the best place to find parts in QLD?
5. Who can I talk to in QLD (or nationwide) for assistance?

I know the distributor needs to be changed or modified, it needs a 90 degree elbow from a Mazda or something (I think)...

Thanks for your help in advance...

Do you have an engine and car, or a car with an engine in it, because if you haven't started the conversion yet, it's not to late to make a better choice.

1) I don't know.
2) you'll need an FSM for a swift GTi, the engine manuals aren't separate
3) EFI fuel tank, EFI fuel lines, fuel pump, ECU wiring, check engine light and VSS into the dash. lots of other work though that's related to the G13B, not specifically to the car.
4)which parts?
5)What assistance? this is a common conversion

You either need a right angle distributor drive if It's a mark 1 motor, or a Mazda Familia GT-X distributor cap if it's a mark 2 or 3

You also need MPH extractors, custom inlet piping to accomodate the MAF, funky coolant piping, and a thermo fan, which often results in overheating, head gasket failure, and a search for a new cylinder head.

I know DOHC and 100hp, but the GTi motor is a poor choice for a Sierra. any EFI swap requires engineering approval, you might as well go with a motor with more/broader torque that fits better and has much more modern EFI/coil packs.

I already have the the engine and the vehicle. It's now a case of working with what I've got
There is a Zook shop in Perth that I have contacted and they are sending me a quote of all the stuff they have or think I might need. Hopefully that will arrive today and I can look through it and get them to ship today/tomorrow.

One thing that may be an issue to source is a fuel rail. Any ideas or know of one lurking about? Maybe also the mark 1 distributor drive if it's a mark 1... that I'll only be able to tell once the parts arrive as I don't know how to distinguish the difference between mark 1/2/3.

Lastly, is there a thread here that details this particular conversion? Slim chance I know, but that would help tremendously!
