Its an hours drive to sit in a seat. If it was closer I would, just thought someone could give first hand experience if they had any.

Are you wanting to put these in a Vitara? There is quite a bit of fab work to make anything other than Vitara seats fit. Take one of yours out and have a look, the seat base isn't flat. Fatzook used to sell a seat mount kit. Vitara seats are also very narrow, Swift GTI & Baleno GTX seats will just fit width wise, but you would still need to make up mounts.

Yea I was looking to put them in my vitara. plan was to strip the old seats of the rails and use them - take the rails and new seats to a workshop and ask them to make a braket to mount them to the rails... have I misunderstood some important detail that would mean this isn't really feasible? ?

[quote="Daly87"]Any body had experience with these type of seats... leather prelude seats. I ca only get them tonight so dont have much time to ponder it. If they have good reviews ill get them if not I'll leave it. He wants $100. Yep, I have put some in my 95 Vit. Mine cost $100 each from a wrecker and the custom canvas covers I got made for them cost more than that. The seats are narrow enough to fit well but not too tight for a fat bastard like me. Making the bases was a big project for me though. They wont just bolt straight in. You do understand that any change of seats is meant to be engineer approved (which includes a trip to the pits)? As for the seats I say good value for money, not as good as Recaros obviously, but I am happy with mine. Edit: To give you an idea of what is involved in the bases, here are a couple of pics of mine - obviously the material & configuration will vary on who does them. For sexy check the TSOR ones, but don't think many people got their hands on them. There are some available from the US, don't know if the would be accepted for engineering http://www.corbeau.com/service/seat_brackets/. Getting brackets made for you could cost cost more than you think, probably worth getting some prices before you go much further.

The Bottom of the 3 pics looks just like a set of Recaro's i sold on gumtree a couple years ago for $300. but the headrest is slightly rounded in comparison, maybe a copy?

They're a bad copy if that's the case- they don't look like any recaro I've ever seen.

So them brackets you have made, thats starting fresh fabricating brackets using the dimensions of the mointing points on the floor and the new seats. Did you use the new seat rails so they move?
Is that an easier way of doing things or would it be easier to butcher the original seat and use them rails, then adapting that to use the new seat mounting points?

The way I see it is that you have 2 options, neither one is very easy: - Use the original rails on the floor & build the frame on top of the rails, so the the frame slides with seat. This is basically the original set up, only instead of frame you have longer legs on 1 side of the Vit seats. - Build a frame on the floor and mount the rails on top using the rails from the new seat. The frame is fixed and the seat moves on top of the frame.
I used the second option because it seamed to work better for me. Just a few things to consider are that Vit rails are pretty average compared to what you may get on replacement seats and also that some seats (for a 2 door) will have a feature that when you adjust the back of the seat it also slides on the rails (so when you put the seat-back fully forward the seat can also slide on the rails - for when back seat passengers are getting in or out) and this will only work if you use the rails that come with the seat.
So yeah, I fixed the frames to the floor and used the rails that were on the new seats. Hope that makes sense.
Edit: You can have a look sometime if you are heading up to Perth

Edit: You can have a look sometime if you are heading up to Perth I went with the first option, left the Vitara rails on the floor and built a 'legs' on the rails. I have only fitted Suzuki seats, Swift GTI and Baleno GTX. I managed to get the Swift passenger seat to slide forward as it tilted for rear passenger access, the cable hooked up to the Vitara rails. It's been a while since I fitted them but I'm pretty sure the Swift GTI rails are the same distance apart as those on a SWB SV Vitara. LWB SV seats have different centres, 20mm narrower. As far as I can remeber the legs were 106mm tall for the outers, 20mm for the inners. Darkhorse did a write up on fitting Subaru seats in his old build thread.
