Yeah yeah i know another one!
Anywho, i was driving along the other day when all of a sudden i lost a heap of power and it started spluttering like it wasnt firing on all cylinders.
I have replaced dizzy cap button leads and plugs and it still isnt firing on no.1 cylinder wtf? I thought if it was the coil it wouldn go at all and if the timing was out it wouldnt work either? Strange it just suddenly shit itself tho.
Also there was a whole lotta shit on the old no.1 plug, i put a magnet on it and its not steel but are the pistons magnetic? It looks like bits of steel or something but it sorta breaks apart easily with your fingernails. I think it reco time
Any thoughts or ideas are much appreciated.

Pistons are aluminium alloy and are not magnetic. Did it get hot? Is there any water in it? Has it had idle issues lately? EG: A vacuum leak?

Dont think it has got hot ( temp gauge works when it feels like it). However no hot smell or steam or anything like that. Yes it has water in it and it doesnt use any. yes idle problems...
Also im pretty sure it was my piston in My spark plug then however i thought it would of completely shit itself by now if thats the case, i have driven about 4 hours since it happened out of necessity to get home doin about 3500rpm and 80-100 the whole way?

also if it helps it does still idle just lumpy and sounds alright on engine braking and very light throttle however on heavy throttle it sounds like a briggs and stratton lawn mower, you know, a bag of shit! haha

I'd be checking for vacuum leaks and then doing a compression test.
Sort of sounds like you have a vacuum leak which lets in unmetered air so a cylinder or 4 can run lean. Lean burn = HOT and can melt pistons and/or valves.
Compression test dry and then with oil squirted into each cylinder.
