Hello all I have the 2 Inch OME/ Commo-Hiace setup installed but i had to extend the bumpstops on the front(havent payed much attention to the back) to stop the shocks from bottoming out, Is this normal? and if it is, is there any shocks i can buy that would work without the bumpstop extensions? im chasing a bit more flex as it hits the bumpstops alot quicker than i would like. Car is a 95 Sierra Thanks Jesse |

If you fit a longer bodied shock than standard you WILL NEED bumpstop spacing. 25mm is usually enough for commo shocks.. |

I did a few calcs the Gabriel shocks for the rear that people use (81147) you will not need bump stop extensions there is about 5mm travel left when on the bump stops. The 81340 I thought were a bit long I didn't really want to sacrifice much up travel as I am putting in a body lift so rubbing shouldnt be an issue. I bought 81481 to go in the front. They have the same travel (about 200mm) as the 81340 but the compressed length was about 15-20mm shorter only requiring a very small bump stop. The 81481 is also from a VC-VN commodore wagon but is to suit one with lowered suspension so the valving should be the same. Shocks any longer than these and it is probably worthwhile relocating the shock towers to run a longer shock. I figured at $37 a shock at the moment as Supercheap I'm happy to use them to have a bit of a play around then, depending on what works I might buy some better shocks down the track or do a RUF and move the front shock mount. |

Bumpstop is not solid and will compress more than 5mm mate. Best to have around 25mm extra shock compression once it touches the BS |

I allowed for 10-15mm deformation in the bumpstops. I made a little spreadsheet with a couple of shock combos to work it all out. So really there's about 20mm of shock travel left. |

LOL k so why did you post only 5mm of uptravel left in the shock when you really measured 20mm of shock travel left. Konfusing! |

Sorry about the confusion. I should have put there is about 5mm travel left when it is hard right up on the bumpstops and deformed them 15mm. There is 20mm travel left when the axle tube just touches the bump stop. |
