Alright, I have searched and failed to come up with a clear answer, I know as soon as you change the tyre size the speedo will be out, but what can I do to fix the speedo? I want to fit 215/75/15 tyres in place of the standard tyres has anyone worked around this or just dealt with the speedo being out slightly |

What model jimny have you got? 215's on a VVT will actually put it back to normal. Edit: jaycar also do a DIY kit to fix it too |

Yep 215s will correct your speedo to pretty much perfect |

If you're running 205/70r15, yes. Go for a run with a gps device and you'll see it reads approx 5km/h slower than what it says on the speedo |

I've actually noticed that, to come to think of it I've noticed that in all the cars I've owned |

If you have a transfer from a WT fitted which is designed to have 3.7 diff gears, then the speedo would be close enough to seem correct. Speedo gears corresponding to a 3.7 diff with 3.9 diffs will give the speedo 5% correction already, factor in 5% error from the factory and your 30" tyres are close enough to the 10% error. |

AFIAK in Aus, speedos have to read between between 0 and 10% lower than the actual speed.... Measured at 40 and 100km/h. (I think) My 1l with 30s still reads 3-4km slow, well it did until the speedo cable snapped the other day. |
