Post subject:  89 vitara brake bleeding??????

Hey guys, I'm once again in struggle street because I was messing around with the brake in my vitara and lost another of fluid. Which I thought was ok I will just bleed the system to get rid of the air. But I have bled the brake system 5 times now and the brakes are still spongy as shit! :( the way I have been bleeding was left front, right front, right rear, left rear.
Am I doing it wrong or am I missing a bleed point? I'm so lost, I'm nearly ready to take it to the mechanic :( please help!

If the early Vits are the same,
Theres a bleed point on the bias valve, on the crossmember near the rear brakes.
Might be the problem, I'm pretty sure it gets bled before the rear lines.
Bleeding works best if bled in both full and off positions.
On mine anyway.

Bleed the master first then furthest bleeder away to closest.
So : both lines at master.
LR
RR
LF
RF

So by bleed the master you mean undo the lines as i cant find a bleed valve on the master.

Yeah when i said right rear i meant at the distribution point near the right rear as the right rear doesnt have its own bleed point.

Im so confussed about goin from furtherest to closest lol but i'll give it a go anyway. I dont have anything to lose

The bias valve is controlled by a spring to A arm, which pulls it up or lets it down, with varying weight in car.
I diconnected the spring, and pulled lever down, bled, then pushed lever up and bled.
Don't fully understand the reason, a brake bod told me to try it,
but has to do with the way fluid flows thru lines varying
.

If there's no bleed point on the right rear, it'll be because the rears are meant to bled only from the left - which would be the first point to bleed under the "furtherest" rule - if you've been attempting to bleed at a distribution block you may have been allowing air back into the system.

If there is a bleed point on the LSPV that would be the second "furthereset" point, and needs to be bled next - this bleed point is actually a part of the front brake circuit.

Ok so tried everything stated above and still no luck. So thought i would bite the bullet and take it to the mechanic! Took it to ABS because they are a brake specialist and are just down the road from work...... They said all that was wrong was the spring loaded device that holds the rear shoes apart wasn't working properly! I thought this was odd and couldn't see how this would allow the pedal to press to the floor, but hey they are brake specialists. But when i picked it up there was no freaking change! WTF!!!!!!!! Honestly are there any good bloody mechanics around any more????? I got charged $100 for them to take the drums off and lube a part that wasnt too fault!!! Ahhhhhh

properly adjusted rear brakes, I bled my vit with a hammer hanging from the proportioning valve, and get the best pedal (cos i did it on a hoist so was at full droop) still my brakes have a bit more travel due to running lwb front calipers, I just prefer to think of it as a progressive pedal feel ;)

so if you lost all the fluid in the master, Id remove the lines and bleed that up first (two person while in car) reconnect lines then start at the furthest point RR bias valve RF then LF ensure you keep the fluid topped up cos i find the vit while bleeding pushes through A LOT of fluid
