Hey guys,
If i am able to get rims re-centered to a deep offset is there any point in using widetrack diffs on my nt sierra? i know the gearing is different but wouldnt nt gearing work better for 30inch tires?

Big offset rims will create rubbing issues as the wheels will move in a bigger arc, causing them to hit the front and back of the guards. WT diffs are much better, can get stronger C.V.'s. As far as the ratios go, you can put your N.T. diff centers into the W.T. housings.

I did this on my 1.0 LWB.
Although WT diffs would be nicer, especially on scrubbings and bearings,
good offset rims was a lot easier and cheaper.
Never had any problems with that set up.

Both have interesting points,i will be cutti
ng the guards out by an inch (virtual lift) to provide clearance and remove rust at the same time.i currently have widetrack axles in and am having issues on the front. the drivers side spring is angling inwards(shackle and hanger ends closer to driver side, spring perch side closer to passenger) which confuses me as I measured thrice, cut once. seems that the passenger tire is slightly further out than the drivers as well. will go get a pic

Sounds like the perches aren't in the right place.

Either that or spring perches are not 'level' with the centerline of the diff, i.e. in the pic above the perch could be sitting further down on the outside?

Actually zukmeister that sounds bang on. due to the angle being secured to the diff it would push the axle away from the hangers giving it the symptom it has got with pass tire further out. maybe i should get a new perch?

Maybe get a set of Fatzook's perches and weld them on, as they are designed for this conversion, so they should fit perfectly!

The perches fatzook have can still be welded on wrong, I would recommend contacting him and getting him to load them in his jig. U just need to carefully cut ur old perches off and he will do the rest for u, he can even save up some money and just tack the new perches on for u to weld later.

The only problem is his not well atm so u may have to wait for a a long whiles untilu get them back .
