Bought my 95 sierra soft top about 2-3 months back. The previous owner done the engine convertion and he said he couldn't work out how to get the tacho working.
Any ideas what the problem could be before I go pulling it apart?

So there is no reason why the tacho cant be hooked up to suit the twincam engine?
I couldn't see why not.

Nope no reason. I used the standard tacho in my old hardtop with a gti motor.

Only the twin coils wont work. Jimny, Carry, Baleno G motors.

Not sure if other motors series J or M or H work either.

Alrighty. So best way to do it would be pull the dash face off? Or try sorce the wire from under the dash looking up from the driver footwell?

The Cluster will have to come out. It would be a 30min job to see if the brown wire isnt broken or if the tacho is broken.
