Alright so I need a new radiator for my manual 95 sierra. Has a GTI twincam engine. Every shop I call has little idea about it and have all given me odd sizes. So Im after the correct core size. Would a radiator from ebay be ok if it comes to that? Cheers for any advice.

There are 4 different rads for Aust delivered Sierras. 1.0 1.3 up to 92? (I think) 1.3 92? to 96 and then Coily.

Why not upgrade to a vit or jim rad?

Well that's on the cards. Just don't know which one.. I would like to go with one that is wider because there is room for one and I can fab some new mounts. Would you be able to tell me which fits best?

Best bet would be to find out the volume of the radiator of the swift your engine came from. If the standard sierra one is larger, run with it... if not, look for something that is.

I'm using a Jimny rad with jimny powersteer next to it, it fits nicely. 31zook has made a vit rad (wider than jimny) fit as well, however, i'm not sure if he had powersteer or not. He did an excellent write up on it.

If you are willing to move mounts, got a vitara radiator, shroud and viscous fan.

Well serached a lot of places and autobarn have one that is a nice think 42mm 2row in standard width and hight for $310.I'm thinking that will work well in cooling the little beast?

Maybe... but a stock radiator will cool the car fine with a proper shroud and fan.
There's lots of debate about this stuff, but if you're starting from scratch, it would make sense to be to fit a radiator, shroud and fan combination from a car with comparable power, and comparable intended use as your car - which is why I suggested using a Vitara radiator fan and shroud.
Sure you can fit a thicker radiator, but if the fan and shroud aren't up to scratch you might not improve cooling very much at all for your $310.
Steve.

Its never easy is it... I do believe the radiator from Autobarn will do the job. Will soon find out if the thermo fan works with it tho if not ill have to change it to a fan and shroud. Thanka a lot for the advice all.

Change to a fan and shroud while the rad is out. Its easy enough with a GTI motor.
