After buzzing around the back blocks of Gambier I noticed that my steering was feeling heavier. And the fluid was roasty hot.
This seems to happen every time I take to the sand/tracks/etc. So it does correspond with when I've been working the wheel hard.
This time my power steering reservoir had spewed a bit of fluid out. I figure the heat caused the expansion and therefore the spill.

I've plenty of space in front of the radiator for it to fit, and I can't see any reason a little bit more fluid would be harmful.
Installing it on the return line before the pump is apparently the right spot to do it.

Are there any downsides to fitting a PS cooler?
Why wouldn't I install one?

'cos it seems like a no brainer right now.

Only downsides are abit of extra $n and to make mounts and some low pressure return hose (cheap from shop) with extra hose clamps

Anything to get oil cooler with pumps is a good thing.

I have a used corolla seca 'engine oil cooler' on my return ps line. Yet to test how it goes in the bush, But its better than nothing for a heavy zook on 35's
The small cooler, top right

Plenty of cars run them from factory. Go right ahead and fit one, and flush all the old fluid out while you're there
