Hello
Put this in here as this it my first post on this site . Another Kiwi surfing over the ditch .
I have come across a reasonably tidy 413 truck cab , it currently has a 1.6 16v in it and the vitara tank with a lockrite in the back . It has a couple of rust spots , front guards so a gaurd chop is on the cards and two patches in the cab .

Image

I am in two minds as what to do with it , some mods are just because I have the bits here and some because if you are doing all this work you may as well only do it once .

This will be a daily driver and occasional weekend tourer ( I have other trucks to go hard out in )

Minumin mod's

Guard chop , remove the rust etc .
Move axle forward
Front Air locker , because I have one on the shelf
Make tray and cage
Install an auto
Mid mount winch

I have read through a bunch of builds and they all seem to be the similar to what I want do if I did not coil it , Being

WT diff's , I have the housings but would need to buy a set of H/Duty axles all round .
RUF
P/Steer

If I went all out I would add coils all round and look at swapping the engine out for a small diesel , I had a 2002 GV with the factory peugeot diesel engine , great car .

So firstly what options are there for a flare that is suitable after a guard cop , seem some on the white LWB being built in Tassie but are they any bigger than a factory guard cutout ?

Secondly , what is the ride like with the RUF , my main aim is comfort onroad . This is what is driving me to coil it , the ride offroad is bad in a zuk from memory . If you have done a RUF , would you do it again or go to the extra work ?

Just can't decide , half says go the hole hog but the other half says its not worth the money spent and just fix it up and get it back on the road . Where do I draw the line ?

Thanks
Chris

Hey mate.

Welcome.

Looks like a great base for a project! As for which route to take, and weather its worth it or not, thats entirely up to you. My 410 trayback ute will owe me $25K by the time it sees its next road.

RUF is a great mod when done properly, and does smooth out the ride a little. Just keep in mind, the longer the spring, the smoother the ride.
