OK - My OD light on the dash is flashing when I drive even when the over drive button is on and the over drive is working fine IE - I can feel it kick in and see the revs drop and it drops out when I stamp on the go pedal. Some times after I have stopped for a while it stays off but then comes on again next time I start the car - Any Idea's? |

It's the equivalent of the check engine light. You'll need to get it to flash the trouble code Steve. |

There is no reference to Auto flashing Light Codes in MY Manual - Must just be in the special edition they make for the Suzuki God. Any one ELSE got any idea's where my problem may be? |

No idea on Auto codes. I'd be checking earths and electrical connections. May be old or low ATF, or auto getting too warm. |

FFS Tony, I was going to look up the process for checking trouble codes with the auto and provide you with the answer, but you can get stuffed, you can work it out for yourself. Yes, there is a supplement for the 16v auto, and the troubleshooting section is very comprehensive. Only trying to help Steve. |

What I have is the Factory Service Manual which has a whole chapter on the Auto and many tests to be done but the only connection to the ECB shown is the solenoid is High or low (voltage applied or not) and no mention of error codes at all. I am sorry if you think I am out of line and will self-impose a life-time ban on myself.

Great comments Tony towards someone that is right behind the 8-ball on your query Try having a look on the kick fix website, I think it has some info there. |

I was always under the impression that "Being behind the eight ball" was being in a spot you would find it very hard to get out from. But then I could be wrong I usually am. |

Thanks for that -- Where does it come from? Any chance of getting the rest of the chapter with the testing explanation? Please note that the Auto is running quite normally when I am driving and the light comes on (Flashing) sometimes when cold or hot and sometimes it stays off - Whichever state it stays that way until the car is stopped and the engine turned off and then restarted - It really seems quite random. |

Possibly loose wire, or poor connection. The fact its flashing suggests it thinks there is a problem with the auto. So may be a sensor or computer wire/connector disturbed. Recent works could have easily knocked a wire loose? Not had much experience, but thats what I'd check. |

Hi all - The weather has cooled down here at last and I have got back to this - I found a problem with the Park/Neutral position switch and fixed that and now have to sort out error codes 31 and 36 which are - 31 Vehicle speed sensor open or short 36 No signal - Both speed sensors. I have found out from a manual that one sensor is in the speedometer but can not find anything on the second one? Any clues anyone? |

I believe the second speed sensor should be on the output of the auto |

I think that is where the speedo one originates JrZook. I just zeroed the error codes and went for a drive and the light stayed of for a while then came on again and is flashing very erratically then stays off for a little while and then back on but not a nice steady flash. The Auto is changing up and down just as it should - kick down works fine and overdrive kicks in when it should 100kph is just under 3000 rpm. I am thinking a loose connection but have wriggled every one I can find under the dash where I was working prior to this happening. Is this "Weird or What" and Capt Kirk WILL be born in 220 years from today |
