Hey guys and girls, every time i was searching something related to zooks this forum always popped up somewhere and was some helpful info so thought I would register!

i couldn't find much info on the stockman trayback so thought I'd ask here.
So guys i can only drive automatic at the moment till i get my green P's in 2 months then going to get a sierra, my main question is what are the main differences between the suzuki sierra stockman trayback sj40-50 compare too the hard/soft top sj40-50.( or the lwb utes)
Are their capability the same on pair for 4x4 and sand dunes?

Are the mods the same difficulty just lift and bigger wheels, if i wanted to fit larger wheels what sizes can they fit up to while they're stock?
I know the traybacks are a lot harder to find then the others but I'm happy to look around till i find one that i want, shame i don't have my manual license now of i would've gotten one this week.
I'm interested in getting one because i just went something cheap on petty and fun which is good for the beach(for fishing) and that i can go 4x4ing a bit as well.

The first real Stockman is an LJ 80 Stockman, later some of the imported Indian made Sierra lwb Maruti's came into the country and because Suzuki had stopped making tray backs and there was a market for tray backs a business in Australia was chopping the back off the lwb Maruti's and adding a tray, they put a Stockman sticker on them and thats whatt people call them. They are Indian made sierra's with a 1 litre engine, most are 4 speed, most are narrow track. Not a bad vehicle, they have 1 litre diff gearing in a 1300 housing and a 1 litre transfer case, because of the profile of the fibreglass roof there is a little more leg room in the cab than in a true sierra trayback. Personally if I wanted a tray back I would hold out for a proper Sierra trayback with a 1300 and 5 speed, I think the Maruti Stockman roof is a bit ugly.
